I’m David Neira, a Notion Consultant, certified Ambassador, and the founder of NotioStore. I work with project-based businesses in the built environment to build operations systems that eliminate chaos and recover the hours and money being quietly lost every month.
Eight Years. Top 100. Just Me.
Before NotioStore, I ran one of the top 100 fitness blogs in the world for eight straight years. Every company or journalist that reached out assumed they were dealing with a team. It was just me. No staff, no agency, no co-founder, just a system I’d built to make one person operate like many.
That’s where I learned what operations actually means. Not software. Not productivity hacks. The discipline of building something that runs consistently, at a high level, over years without chaos eating it alive. Publishing schedules, brand partnerships, content pipelines, audience growth, all of it running out of a system one person could manage without losing their mind.
Every company or journalist that reached out assumed they were dealing with a team. It was just me. Before AI, before no-code tools, before any of that. Just a system I'd built because I had no other choice.
When I discovered Notion, I recognised it immediately as the infrastructure layer I’d always been building manually. I switched, rebuilt everything, and other people started asking how I’d done it. That question became NotioStore.
Why Not Fitness. Why Buildings.
I spent eight years in the fitness industry. I was good at it. But after eight years of protein shakes, workout plans, and supplement brands, I was done. Not burnt out, just finished. I knew exactly what I didn’t want to do next.
What I didn’t expect was to find the answer in a Notion Setup Session with an architect.
The session that changed everything
He was running a six-person studio across three ongoing commissions, managing everything through WhatsApp groups, a shared Dropbox nobody trusted, and a billing spreadsheet that was always two weeks out of date. Talented practice. Serious work. Zero operational infrastructure. I built him a system in two weeks and watched his Friday afternoons go from chasing status updates to actually doing architecture.
That was it. I started taking more sessions with architects, then construction companies, then interior designers. And I kept finding the same thing, intelligent, skilled people building real things in the real world, running their businesses like it was still 2009. Not because they were disorganised. Because nobody had ever built them a proper system.
You can’t run a serious business on WhatsApp chats. You can’t track a €400,000 construction project in a shared spreadsheet nobody updates. You can’t manage client relationships through email threads and memory. These aren’t edge cases, they’re the norm across architecture studios, construction firms, interior design practices, real estate agencies, and landscaping companies of every size.
The fitness industry sells people on the idea of transformation. The built environment actually transforms things. Buildings. Spaces. Cities. I'd rather work with the people who do that.
