Q: How did you first discover Notion, and what drew you to it?

A: I happened upon Notion some two years ago, but didn’t take it seriously till 2023. I started building in Notion by May 2023 by learning tutorials online and then making my own systems for friends and family.

My brother really liked one of my systems and encouraged me to put it up online.

Q: What inspired you to start creating and selling Notion templates?

A: My brother told me to sell my systems because he said that I was really good at building in Notion. Taking his advice, I sent it to two of my colleagues and writing friends, and they all really liked my daily workspace planner, and said it would be a good idea to sell it.

So after some time, I made a Gumroad store and listed it to sell online.

Q: What does a typical day in your life look like?

A: I work in spurts.

I run an online business now since I have made the dive back into my freelancing career towards the end of last year. I offer copywriting and copyediting services, and I also build custom workspaces for businesses in Notion. I started to build workspaces for other businesses after getting clients for it.

I start my mornings with coffee and writing.

Then around 11 am, I work out for 1.5-2 hours.

Then I’m back home, and I cook and eat lunch.

Then I engage in another deep work session that lasts for 3-4 hours.

After that, I take a long walk to relax and wind down for the evenings.

Sometimes, I work late at night when the muse comes.

I write, edit, and build things and have fun with it.

Q: As a writer and content creator, how do your professional experiences influence your template designs?

A: As a writer, I have a good understanding of what other people are looking for in writing systems and related workspaces.

I have designed three different workspaces catering to writers: Focus on Writing Your Fiction (really simple and easy to braindump), a more sturdy Aesthetic & Simple Writing Workspace Planner (easy to track multiple writing projects), and a whole complete system that focuses on writing different kinds of projects and editing them called Aesthetic & Simple Writing & Editing Tracker (easy but packed with value that helps you break down your bigger writing projects in small chunks) which can help any writer track their long term projects.

Having been a full-time writer for around a decade has given me clarity on how to make systems that will be useful for other writers & editors.

Q: How do you balance simplicity and comprehensiveness in your template designs?

A: I make simple systems because that’s what my customers like, and I make a system comprehensive so that they don’t have to veer out of the template to look for another to fix any of their problems.

Q: How do you use Notion and your own templates in your daily life?

A: I use them to manage my own life and businesses.

Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting to use Notion for personal or professional organization?

A: Try to take it one day at a time, and try not to get overwhelmed by watching 634 tutorials in one day.

Learn Notion at your own pace.

Q: How do you stay inspired and come up with new ideas for templates?

A: My brain just comes up with ideas, and I also get inspired by customer feedback and demand.

Q: Are there any upcoming projects or templates that you are excited about?

A: I’m excited about the two new systems that I’m currently working on.

Q: What’s your favorite way to relax or destress?

A: I relax by painting, reading books, watching romcoms, writing romance novels and listening to music.

I have worked out daily (except Sundays) for the past two years in order to help me from anxiety and have a relaxed, focused mind. I lift weights and do yoga since it helps me destress.

Q: Can you share a goal or dream that you’re currently pursuing?

A: I’m currently working on two different productivity systems in Notion. One of my systems will handle content production and management for different social media platforms. The other one is a system that you can track your studying for online courses.

I’m still in the early stages of working on these systems.

I’m also writing my latest romance book online, ‘The Billionaire’s Instant Bride’ on the platform for online romance reading called Radish, and so far it has amassed 46k views to date.
